 |
Composition
Long-grain core covered with two layers of cross-grain veneer sheets on each side with parallel grain (Picture 1). The core is formed by 29 mm-wide poplar (or spruce) strips bonded together; the two layers of veneer are exclusively in poplar with a minimum total thickness of about 2.6 mm. On customer's request it is possible to produce 3-layer panels, made of a long-grain core covered with a cross-grain layer of veneer sheet on each side (Picture 2). For thicknesses over to 30 mm. a double core is used (Picture 3). |

Specific use
Due to its stable characteristics of screwability and light weith, blockboard is indicated for the manufacturing of high quality and long-lasting furniture. It is commonly used for shutters (also of large dimensions), jambs or structural components (shoulders), shelves and common cabinet-making articles. |
